In March we went to Vail for a visit with Cassie's twin sister, to celebrate their birthday and enjoy some snowboarding. As we were leaving Boston, a snowstorm was moving into the region, eventually depositing a foot of snow on New England. Conversely, the first thing I saw after stepping out of Eagle airport was a convertible with the top down. The thermometer hit 60°F every day of our stay, and not just at the base of the mountain.
Being my first trip out west, I was a little disappointed to not experience Colorado powder, but BBQs in short sleeves at 11,500 feet more than made up for it.
